About Me...

My name is Della Blanton. I graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in education from East Texas State University in Commerce and received my Master’s degree in special education with a dyslexia specialization through Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls, TX.  I am licensed through the state of Texas as a Dyslexia Therapist, and I am a Certified Academic Language Therapist (CALT) trained in Take Flight: A Comprehensive Intervention for Students with Dyslexia. I am passionate about serving the dyslexic students in Detroit ISD who struggle with reading and spelling. 

My husband, Jeff, is a preacher and a rancher. He works with the church of Christ in the Fulbright community. We have three sons, two of whom are dyslexic. My sons “fuel my fire” to be the best dyslexia teacher I can be!
