Scholarship Information          

 TTA Foundation Scholarship will award six, four-year scholarships, in the amount of $1500 per year. Deadline is March 18, 2013. Applications are in the counselor's office and online at www.TTA.org.Schools may submit two applications.

TRTF (Texas Retired Teachers Foundation) is offering fifteen $500 scholarships to students who will be attending a Texas college in 2013-14 and are majoring  in education (they must also be relatives of members of the Texas Retired Teachers Association). Applications and guidelines are available online at www.trtf.org/index.cfm/scholarships-grants/. Applications must be received by Mar.7.

Lone Star Ag Credit will award four graduating seniors a $2500 scholarship in 2012.  Students must provide application form, resume, transcript, and a one page essay on “How has agriculture impacted your past and how will it affect your future?” Applications are in the counselor’s office.  April 1^st deadline.

American Legion Post 199 Deport, Texas Scholarship is available to Detroit seniors. Applicant must write  a 250 word minimum essay on the importance of military service. Student eligibility:  Student’s parent, grandparent or legal guardian must be active duty military or a veteran of military service (honorably discharged) Applications are in the counselor’s office.  Deadline is April 26^th. 

Smiles Made for Life $1000 College Scholarship Application is available for seniors that are patients (past or current) of Dr. Shae Ochoa at Mt. Pleasant. Deadline is April 6^th.

Paris Junior College scholarship application should be completed online at www.parisjc.edu/index.php/pjc/content-pjc/financial-aid/. 

The application for the PJC Presidential Scholarship is in the counselor’s office. To apply a student must have a minimum ACT composite score of 25. Deadline for receiving applications is March 22nd. The PJC Erbie Allie Bell Sale Scholarship is open for students with an ACT minimum score of 22. 

Kimberly Clark Credit Union scholarship application is on website at www.kimberlyclarkcu.org for seniors who are children or grandchildren of Kimberly Clark Corp. employees and retirees. Deadline is March 29th. 

Scholarship applications are available on www.collegeforalltexans.com.

The East Texas Section of the Society of Petroleum Engineers awards scholarships to seniors who plan on majoring in petroleum engineering, mechanical engineering or chemical engineering.  Applications are available at www.easttexas.spe.org.

Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation has launched a new scholarship of $10,000 for twenty college-bound seniors. Candidates must be nominated by an eligible community leaders. Find information at web site www.reaganfoundation.org/GE-RFScholarships.aspx.

Texas Rural Education Association 2012 student scholarship applications are in the counselor’s office or online at www.frs.org. Deadline is March 1st.

Clarksville Rotary Club Scholarship Application should be available at a later date online at www.clarksvillerotary.net.

Upcoming test dates: ACT -April 13th, register by March 8th & June 8^th,  register by  May 3, 2013, cost $33 (no writing) & $48 ACT plus writing. SAT is May 4th, register by April 5^th  June 1st, register by May 7th, cost $47.  Students that are eligible for free or reduced lunches are eligible for ACT and SAT fee waivers. Contact the counselor for the fee waivers.

Applications for the local scholarships are in the  Counselor’s office.  Seniors should  return the completed applications to the counselor except for the few  designated otherwise.
