Ella Duren joined the staff at Detroit Elementary in August of 2008 as a teacher, and she became the Principal of the Elementary in August of 2010.   Before joining DES, Mrs. Duren spent nine years as an educator in Paris where she taught Third grade at Everett in the North Lamar ISD, prior to that she was an educator at Brice Elementary in the Mt. Pleasant ISD where she taught First grade ESL.

Mrs. Duren earned a Bachelors in Elementary Education from West Texas A&M University, and a Masters with a focus on Administrative Leadership at Texas A&M University, Commerce, Texas.   She has been married to Mikel Duren for 18 years and they have three boys; Cody 17, Jared 15, and Luke 13.
