My name is Tiffany McLeod, and this is my fifth year as the fine arts instructor at Detroit Elementary. I am extremely excited about this school year, and I hope that your children are, as well! Music and art have been two of the greatest influences in many areas of my life, thanks to my parents. My dad instilled in me a love for classic rock growing up, and we listen to a good deal of it in my classroom. If your child comes home singing a Kansas song, it is most likely my fault….you’re welcome!
At the age of 8, my parents put me in piano lessons, and I was hooked for life. I went on to learn to play the flute, guitar, fiddle, and most recently, a less commonly known bluegrass instrument called the mountain dulcimer (which I am still learning at what seems like a snail’s pace). I also enjoyed singing in the choir at church and at my high school.
I am active at Chisum Trails Cowboy Church in Powderly, Texas, where my family has attended since I was a teenager, and I play fiddle and sing background vocals in the CTCC Band. I have been teaching piano lessons for eight years and violin lessons for 5 years outside of school hours. My favorite pastimes include reading mystery books, dabbling in photography and videography, and drawing/painting.
Welcome to my online classroom! Feel free to contact me if you have any questions, comments, or concerns...I am looking forward to another “fantabulous” (as the kids may tell you, I love to make up words!) school year with your kids!
