United States History; 1877 to present.  

This course is a broad study of United States history beginning with the Reconstruction of the south after the Civil War to present times.  The course is a study of governmental policies, military manuvering, and social movements that have shaped these United States.  Students are expected to understand concepts of historical significance, characteristics of historical eras, and analysis of governmental policies that have transformed the nation.  Students are required to take the State of Texas Assessment of Academic Readiness (S.T.A.A.R.) end of course exam before graduation to sussessfully earn a high school diploma.
